Foursquare Launches In Dublin
Last week, we wrote about the growing popularity of Foursquare, a social networking mobile-driven service that is a combination of friend-finder, city guide and competitive bar game, and predicted its imminent arrival in the Emerald Isle.
This week, Foursquare launched its latest round of cities, adding 15 new cities including Dublin.
European Cities now offering Foursquare include:
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Athens, Greece
Barcelona, Spain
Berlin, Germany
Brussels, Belgium
Copenhagen, Denmark
Dublin, Ireland
Geneva, Switzerland
Helsinki, Finland
London, UK
Madrid, Spain
Manchester, UK
Munich, Germany
Paris, France
Prague, Czech Republic
Rome, Italy
Stockholm, Sweden
Moving forward, Foursquare will continue to add to its now 53 Cities List based on customer feedback. So, if you think Foursquare should come to your city, add your vote here.
Already requests are flying around Dublin to “add friends” and Dublin’s first FS Mayor has already been crowned - @houlieoin is Mayor of Starbucks. Let the competition commence!

There’s only one “major” of Ireland, that’s Twenty Major. All the rest of the players can aspire to “mayor” like Mayor of Starbucks.
